    قرآن مجید میں بہت سارے مسائل ایسے ہیں جن کا تفسیر و تطبیق احادیث شریفہ کے بغیر ممکن نہیں مثلاً قرآن مجید میں صرف اقیمو الصلوة ہے لیکن صلوة الفجر و صلوة الظہر وغیرہ نمازوں کی خصوصیتیں اور ان کو ادا کرنے کی ترکیبیں ‘ ذات سرور کائنات ہی سے معلوم ہوئی ہیں۔ ان خصوصیتیوں اور ترکیبوں کا قرآن میں مذکور نہونا مخالف استدلال کے لئے مفید نہیں ہوسکتا ۔ کیونکہ یہ سب ان آیات ہی کی تفسیر تسلیم کی جاتی ہیں۔



    It is not possible to explain or conform (tatbiq) many of the precepts (masail) that are in Quran. For instance, Quran only says, “Establish prayer.” But the particularities and the order of performing various prayers like the morning, afternoon, etc., we have learnt from Prophet MuhammadSLM. The absence of these particularities and the order of performing cannot be used for an adverse argument, because all this is considered to be the exegesis of the Quranic Verses.


    اسی طرح رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے بعد امت رسول میں ایک شخص کی بعثت کا ذکر قرآن میں احبالاً موجود ہے جیسا کہ آنحضرت کا ذکر اگلے کتب سماویہ میں اجمالاً پایا جاتا ہے۔ اس کی توضیح ۱ ان آیا ت کی بحث میں آگے معلوم ہوجائےگی ان آیات میں صرف ایک شخص کی بعثت کا ذکر ہے اس کا نام و لقب مخصوص کہیں کیا گیا ہے حضرت رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی احادیث شریفہ جو مہدی موعود علیہ السلام کی بعثت کے متعلق پائی جاتی ہیں وہ فی الحقیقت ان آیات ہی کی تفسیر ہیں صرف آنحضرت کے فرامین ہی سے معلوم ہوسکتا ہے کہ اس شخص کا نام ” محمد “ اور لقب ” مہدی“ ہے ۔ اور وہ نسلاً نبی فاطمہ سے ہوگا ۔ اور اس کے والدین کا نام آنحضرت کے والدین کے نام پر ہوگا ۔ یہ توضیحات جبکہ ان آیات کی تفسیر و تطبیق ہیں تو ماننا پڑےگا کہ قرآن میں جس شخص کی بعثت کا ذکر ہے وہ مہدی علیہ السلام ہی ہیں ۔ اسی لئے احادیث شریفہ میں مہدی علیہ السلام کیلئے مامور من اللہ کی خصوصیت بھی بیان ہوئی ہے۔



    Similarly, the mention of the advent of a person in the ummah of the ProphetSLM is present in a hidden form in Quran, as there was a brief mention of the advent of Prophet MuhammadSLM in the earlier heavenly scriptures. The explication1 of these Quranic Verses will be given later in this part of this book. There is mention of the advent of one person, but his name or titles have not been mentioned anywhere. The Traditions of Prophet MuhammadSLM relating to the advent and mission of Imam Mahdi Mau’oodAS are in fact the exegesis of these Quranic Verses. These Traditions alone show that the name of the person is Muhammad and his title is Mahdi and that he would be from among the descendants of Hazrat Bibi FatimaRZ and the names of the parents of the Mahdi would be the same as those of the parents of the ProphetSLM himself. When these explanations are the exegesis and conformation of the Quranic Verses, one is bound to accept that the mention of the advent of the person in Quranic Verses relates to Hazrat Imam MahdiAS. This is why the particularity of the Imam MahdiAS being appointed by Allah (mamoor min-Allah) has been described specifically.


    اس سے ظاہر ہیکہ لفظ ” مہدی “ قرآن میں نہونا مخالف استدلال کی بنا نہیں ہوسکتا ۔ ورنہ نعوذ باللہ احادیث صحیحہ و متواترہ مخالف ِ قرآن ہونا لازم آئےگا ۔ حاصل یہ کہ ” مہدی “ حضرت رسول اللہ کا دیا ہوا خطاب ہے اس لئے کلام رسول میں موجود ہے ۔ لہذا کلام اللہ میں نہ پایا جانا خارج از بحث ہے۔ اسی لئے حضرت بندگیمیاں عبدالرشید رضی اللہ عنہ نے خطبہ افتتاحیہ میں یہ الفاظ استعمال کئے ہیں۔



    This shows that the absence of the word, Mahdi, in Quran cannot be the basis of an argument opposing (the advent of Mahdi). Otherwise, Allah may protect us, it would be tantamount to admitting that the ahadis-e-Sahiha-o-mutawatira contradict the Quran. In short, Mahdi is a title conferred by Prophet MuhammadSLM. Hence, it is found in the sayings of the ProphetSLM. As such, its not being found in the Quran is beside the point. Therefore, Hazrat Bandagi Miyan Abdur RashidRZ has said in his foreword (to Naqliat),


    والسلام علی الامام فی اٰخر الزمان من حضرة الرحمان الموعود فی القراٰن المخاطب بالمھدی باللسان من نبی الرحمن علیہ الصلوٰة والسلام
    اور بارگاہ رحمن سے سلام نازل ہوا مام آخر الزماں پر جن (کی بعثت) کا وعدہ قرآن میں کیا گیا ہے۔ اور جن کو نبی الرحمن علیہ الصلوة والسلام کی زبان مبارک سے ” مہدی علیہ السلام “ کا خطاب دیا کیا گیا ہے۔

    “And salutations may descend from the House of the Merciful (God) on the Imam-e-Aakhir-az-Zaman, whose advent and mission was promised in Quran, and Prophet MuhammadSLM conferred on him the title of Mahdi.”

    Fateh Khan Baru had sent word to all muhajirin through Malik BakhkhanRZ, “The mullahs have said that they wanted to debate the question of Mahdiat with you.” All the muhajirin assembled at the village of Munib. Bandagi Miyan Syed KhundmirRZ advised all the muhajirin, “All of you come to a consensus that only one man would reply to the opponents. All the muhajirin agreed to the suggestion. Bandagi MiyanRZ told Bandagi Miyan Shah NizamRZ, “How would you reply to the debate?” Miyan NizamRZ said, “This servant will prove the zath of Imam MahdiAS by the traditions (hadis) of Prophet MuhammadSLM.” Miyan KhundmirRZ said, “This is not the reply because there is great contradiction in the traditions. The munkir (opponent) of Imam MahdiAS will not accept the arguments.” Then he turned to Bandagi Miyan Shah NematRZ, “What would be your reply?” Shah NematRZ said, “This servant will prove the zath of Imam MahdiAS by one Verse of Quran and one tradition of ProphetSLM. It is good if the opponent accepts. Otherwise, I will show the sword and ask if he accepts it.” Miyan KhundmirRZ said, “This is not the reply.” Then he asked Bandagi Miyan Shah DilawarRZ, “What would be your reply?” Miyan DilawarRZ said, “This servant will answer after ascertaining from Allah.” Miyan KhundmirRZ said, “This too is not the (proper) answer. The opponent will not accept ascertaining from Allah.” Then he asked Miyan MalikjiRZ, “What would be your answer?” Miyan MalikjiRZ said, “This servant will prove the zath of Imam MahdiAS by the similitude of the zath of Prophet MuhammadSLM.” Miyan KhundmirRZ said, “The munkir of Imam MahdiAS will not accept similitude.” He then turned to Miyan Amin MuhammadRZ, “What would be your reply?” Miyan Amin MuhammadRZ said, “This servant will prove the zath of the ImamAS through the glory of the ProphetsAS.” Miyan KhundmirRZ said, “The munkir of the ImamAS will not accept the glory of the ProphetsAS.” Miyan KhundmirRZ asked some other muhajirin about their replies. They answered according to their ability. Miyan KhundmirRZ could not accept their replies too. Then Miyan MalikjiRZ asked Miyan KhundmirRZ, “What would be your answer?” Miyan KhundmirRZ then said, “If all the muhajirin permit me, I will tell about my answer.” All the muhajirin gave the permission. Then Miyan Syed KhundmirRZ said, “As the sadaqa of our khundkar Mahdi, I will prove the vilayat of Imam MahdiAS on the authority of the first letter, Alif, to the last word, wannas, of the Quran, “All the companions affirmed that the person who can give such proof is the honoured (ikram). All the companions paid fealty to Bandagi Miyan Syed KhundmirRZ by saying, “You are the buzurg among us. Bandagi MiyanRZ explained the Verse, Afa man kana…, and some other Verses of the Quran. However, the mullahs felt defeated even before the debate started and refrained from joining the debate. They were disgraced. This narration is from the village Nabib.
